How did Nathan Hale contribute to America? The Life of Nathan Hale What did Nathan Hale do during the revolutionary war? Fun Facts He was part of a group called the rangers who preform special tasks for George Washington.It was through this group he became a spy. Born in 1755; Coventry, Connecticut.At the age of fourteen he attends Yale collage, which he enjoys very much. Hale is first a schoolteacher, but he joins the army when the war begins. He is killed in 1775 and never marries or has children. Nathan Hale first started out as officer in the war He did well in this position and was soon offered the position of Captain. From there he joined the rangers men who did special jobs for general, Washington here Washington asked for a spy. He carried out the job well, but when it was time for him to leave he was captured and hung. He died at the age of twenty one.
he is perhaps most famous for his last words, "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.
He is the official state hero of Connecticut.
