Kaine White Kevin Durant Kevin Durant was born on September 29th 1988 Facts pictures he was the rookie of the year in the 07-08 season achievements Kevin Durant He was born in Suitland,Maryland He played basket ball at The university of Austin for one year He was raised by his grandmother along with his sister and his two brothers •Durant's success started with the PG Jaguars, an Amateur Athletic Union youth basketball team in Prince George's County, Maryland. •The amateur team won two national championships while Durant played. • He was chosen second overall in the first round of the 2007 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. • Durant is a three time NBA all-star • Durant signed with the University of Texas Longhorns in Austin Russell Springman a Longhorn assistant and Maryland native, had been in touch with Durant since his freshman year of high school. • He was named the Big 12 Tournament's Most Valuable Player after hitting a tournament record of 92 points and leading the Longhorns to the second round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Championship. • Durant wears a No. 35 jersey in honor of Charles Craig, his AAU coach and childhood mentor, who died at the age of 35. • He played for the National Christian Academy and Montrose Christian School, both in Maryland, and for basketball powerhouse Oak Hill Academy, located in Virginia • During high school, Durant grew seven inches, to his current height of 6'9".
