The size of an Australopithecus' brain was a third of the size of a modern human beings brain. Australopithecus lived around 5 million bc in Africa. Males were around 4'11 weighing 100 pounds and females were 3'5 and weighed around 62 lbs. They lived in savannahs and open woodland and ate fruit, seeds, and roots. Australopithecus were one of the first species with any form of civilization

The kenyanthropus platypos ilved 3.5 billion years ago. Its name means, "flat face". Its brain was about the size of a chimpanzee. The Kenyanthropus platypos had both ape like characteristics and human characteristics such as its teeth. They did not use tools or fire but used naturral things like rocks and sticks.
Homo habillis lived 2.5 million years ago. They were found in eastern and southern Africa. Their brain size was 47% the size of an average modern human beings brain is. This species was omnivorous, and used stone tools to hunt.
The paranthropus aethiopicus lived around 2.7 million years ago. Its cranium was shaped like a gorillas rather than a humans. It lived in Savanna. It is the earliest of the robust australopiths.
The paranthropus robustus lived around 2 million years ago. Their brains were a little bigger than a chimpanzee's. Paranthrpus robusts' used and made tools. Its is named "robustus" because of it big and strong face and jaw.
Homo erectus' lived around 1.8 million years ago. They lived in Africa and parts of Asia. Homo erectus means upright man. This species is thought to have made stone axes and cleavers. Their brain size was bigger than a homo habillis, but smaller than the Homo heidelbergensis
Homo Floresiensis lived around 100,000 years ago. they had tiny brains. homo floresiensis had large teeth, no chin, and a receding forehead. Even though they had small brains, they used and made stone tools and hunted small elephants and large rodents, dealt with predators such as Komodo dragons, and may have used fire.

homo Neandethalensis lived 28000 years ago. Their brain was he same size and sometimes even larger than a modern human. Neanderthals made and used a many sophisticated tools, controlled fire, lived in shelters, made and wore clothing, were skilled hunters of large animals and also ate plant foods. they also buried their dead and left flowers and related items.
