Thoughts Principle Skinner hold a pencil with his left. He must also hold his gun with his left.
Mr. Burns was shot on the left side of his ribs.
When a person shoots they point straight. If Principle Skinner shot Mr. Burns it would likely have went to his right side of the ribs. Case Overview Name: Montgomery Burns
Profile: Owner of a Nuclear power plant.
He was shot while he passed through the town hall parking lot. The bullet came from a pistol to the left side of his ribs. Had powder burns on him, therefore point blank shot. He had a gun prior to being shot but afterward the police did not find a gun on him. The gun was on the right pocket of his suit. Because of this, Detective Huynh suspects he is left handed. The fact that the gun was missing after he got shot means it could have been the weapon the perpetrator used to shoot him. There was Simpson DNA found on his body.

Motive for shooting Mr. Burns: Angry at school closure.
Alibi: At meeting. After the meeting, he was explaining the meeting to Krusty
Witness: Smithers made a reference to a Comedy Central show that aired after the meeting. Post-Mel's Interview: Thoughts If Smithers made a reference to a CC show that aired after the meeting. Then he must have been home to watch it.

Mr. Burns could be easily overpowered. Therefore it could be anyone.
His motive isn't very intense. Homer Simpson Profile: Loud, lazy, and an oaf. Work at Mr. Burns' Nuclear Power Plant. Assaulted Mr. Burns a few day before the meeting for not remembering his name. Upset that Moe's Tavern is close. House covered in oil.
Motive for shooting Mr. Burns: House and Moe's Tavern deeply affected by oil drilling. Can't remember his name.
Alibi: At the meeting and got up to confront Mr. Burns. After meeting, Homer claims he went to see if Moe's Tavern was still closed. Not there when body found.
Witnessed: Nothing noteworthy. Post-Homer's Interview: Thoughts Seems like someone who could have done it.
Homer is a Simpson. Apu Profile: Work at Kwik-e-Mart. Knows Lisa's idealistic nature, the ineptitude of the police, Homer's hatred for Mr. Burns, polite nature of Snake. Sun blocking machine scared him.
Motive for shooting Mr. Burns: Scared of sun blocking machine.
Alibi: At meeting with brother. After the meeting, Apu yelled, "Where is the gun totting low life when you need one?".
Witnessed: Saw Smithers immediately rush after Mr. Burns after the meeting. Post-Apu's Interview: Thoughts Apu's motive isn't very intense.
If Lisa is idealistic, it is unlikely she would shoot someone.
His yelling implies he wanted someone to shoot Mr. Burns Final Thoughts Mr. Burns said "Oh, It's you". That means the perpetrator is someone he recognize. Therefore, it can't be Apu first and foremost. Mr. Burns doesn't have a history with Apu. Because Apu is so dedicated to the Kwik-e-mart, he most likely rushed to the store after meeting. It also can't be anyone else he didn't recognize. The perpetrator never replied to Mr. Burns' comments so most likely it isn't someone who is a loud mouth or that person is smart enough to not talk. Because Mr. Burns approached the perpetrator (judging from his shadow), it was someone that wouldn't repel him.
