Animals Use This? Electrical Energy Electrical energy is caused by the movement of electrons. Lightning is electrical energy, so is the electricity which comes into our houses. It is the energy of particles moving through a wire or through an electrical device. Is This Energy renewable or non-renewable? The energy sources we use to make electricity can be renewable or non-renewable, but electricity itself is neither renewable nor non-renewable. It's a good idea to try to use less electricity because it can finish, not only that your house electricity bill will be HIGH!! We get electricity from the conversion of other sources of energy, such as coal, nuclear, or solar energy. These are called primary sources. The primary sources we use to make electricity can be renewable or non-renewable. Electricity is an essential part of our daily lives. We use electricity for almost everything we do, whether it's turning on the lights in our house, playing our favorite video game, or even blow drying our hair. As far as animals, an Electric eel is a sea creature can produce strong electric shocks of around 500 volts for both self defense and hunting. Electrical Energy Amount of Usage
compared to other forms of energy How electricity gets to our homes Every time you turn on a light switch, or your television, electricity is there working for you. But did you ever wonder how this energy gets to your house whenever you need it? Did you ever notice all the poles and wires outside near your street? Do you know what these are for? These poles and wires are the electrical transmission and distribution system. In other words, these wires and poles are the way that energy can come into our homes so we can use it. Forms of Electricity Electricity can come in many different forms. For instance, think of the electricity that is produced when someone receives a shock, or when laundry gets stuck together... this is static electricity, and is the same type of electricity that causes lightning when there is a thunderstorm.The type of energy that we use in our homes, schools, and businesses is different than static electricity. This type of electricity is called current electricity. Current electricity is a stream of electrons flowing through a conductor. The way we get the electricity in our homes is from current electricity. History Of Electricity It wasn't until 1752 that the famous inventor, Benjamin Franklin proved that lightning was electrical. Throughout the next hundred years, many inventors and scientists tried to find a way to use electrical power to make light. In 1879, the American inventor Thomas Edison was finally able to produce a reliable, long-lasting electric light bulb in his laboratory. In, 1800, Alessandro Volta, an Italian scientist, soaked paper in salt water, placed zinc and copper on opposite sides of the paper, and watched the chemical reaction produce an electric current. Volta had created the first electric cell. By connecting many of these cells together, Volta was able to “string a current” and create a battery. It is in honor of Volta that we rate batteries in volts. Save Electricity Most of our electricity comes from sources that will eventually run out. So it makes sense to conserve electricity. Turn off the television and lights when you are not using them. If you have an electric water heater, you can save electricity by taking showers instead of baths. You will use less water, and therefore, less electricity will be needed to heat your water. DON'T ever play with electricity! Electricity is very useful, but it can be
really dangerous as well. If you are silly enough to touch or play near power
equipment, you could die an extremely nasty and unpleasant death. electricity doesn't just shock you, it burns you alive. Electricity can also be dangerous in your home. Don't play with electrical appliances at home. Ask an adult for advice if you're not sure what's
safe. Energy means the ability to do work. It is something that can be neither created nor destroyed. Energy is in everything and We use it for everything we do. It is something that makes motion and change possible. Electrical energy today is the most widely used form of energy compared to the others. In the modern world, electricity is an essential part of day-to-day life. In fact, it is probably impossible to count all the ways we use electricity. From the moment we wake up we use electricity to toast our bread, listen to the radio or refrigerate our orange juice. Electricity powers the lights in the classrooms and offices where we work. The clothes we wear, even the cars we drive, are made by machines that use electricity. Thanks For Listening!! Hope you
