Rules:
Same Sign Sum
keep the same sign
-if the problem has the same signs, your answer will have the same sign.
ex. 2+2=2 -4+(-3)=(-7)
Different Sign Difference
keep the sign of the most
-if there's more of that sign, you will keep that sign.
ex. *4+(-8)=(-4) 8+(-4)=4
*notice how the number (4) is actually bigger than (-8), but there are more amount of negatives than there are positives, so you will have a negative answer.
Subtracting Integers
Rules:
Keep, Change, Change
the first number, "-" sign to "+", and the sign of the next number
ex. 2-5 -4-(-9)
2+(-5) -4+(+9)

Multiplication and Division
Rules:
Same Sign, Positive
If the numbers have the same signs, the answer is always positive.
-multiply and divide as you normally would.
ex. -4 x (-2) = 8 -8 ÷ (-4) = 2
Other Methods:
If you're adding numbers with different signs, it's just like subtracting. Except sometimes, you have to put a negative sign.
ex. -7+9 = 2 -6+3=-3

If it has different signs, the answer is always negative.
-multiply and divide normally.
ex. -9 x 2 = -18 3 x (-4) =-12
