giving customers information Skills and abilities:

Travel agents must have a High School Diploma or GED
Many have a Bachelor's Degree
Training may last 6-12 weeks

Some work for commission
Employment and outlook:
several factors are reducing the demand for travel agents
computerized reservation systems
economic turndowns

Tour Guide Overview:
tour guides develop and oversee activities for groups or tourists
Occupational tasks:
escorting groups on tours
answering questions
monitoring visitor's behavior
planning trips
speaking foreign languages
Skills and abilities:
tour guides need to be able to-
reason and problem solve
manage oneself, time, people, and things
work with people
tour guides must have a High School Diploma or GED
training may last as long as 9 months Wages:
wages vary by time of year
Employment and outlook:
the need for tour guides may grow if the economy stays strong Flight Attendant Overview:
Flight Attendants keep plane passengers safe and evacuate them safely in case of emergency Occupational tasks:
Attending preflight briefing
Greeting passengers,
verifying tickets,
directing passengers to assigned seats.
Assisting passengers with storing carry-on luggage
Explaining use of safety equipment and what to do in case there is an emergency.
Walking aisle of plane to verify that passengers are seat-belted and luggage is stowed properly.
Serving meals and beverages.
Collecting money.
Attending to passengers' needs .
.Directing and assisting passengers in an event of an emergency.
Skills and abilities:
Flight Attendants need to be able to:

Flight attendants must have a High School Diploma or GED
must be 21 years old, depending on the employer
training lasts from 3-6 weeks Wages:
beginning pay varies
Employment and Outlook:
as long as there is demand for plane travel, there will be a demand for flight attendants
