There are many jobs to be done on a dairy farm such as direct handling of the farm and its animals. Such as the farmer himself or a farm hand to help with all the work. It also provides jobs for
veternarins , insemination technicians, tanker drivers, factory workers , land bankers ,
maintenence of machinery workers and store operators.
Dairy farming is a big industry and a important part of the Waikato region. Another impact on people The main output of dairy farming is to produce milk !!
Dairy farming provides us with milk and milk products such as ;
cheese , yoghurt , chocolate , ice-cream , butter , cream , milk powder , whey etc. . .
It's a big economic industry that makes a lot of money and has a big impact in our lives. impact of dairy farming on the land :) one impact on the environment . . . Dairy farming can have a negative effect on the environment.
as well as all the benefits of dairy farming the natural gasses (methane) produced by the cattle makes dairy farming a bad smelling industry polluting the air. The cows manure is then collected in special ponds and used as fertilizer for the grass so the farm always has a strong smell to it ! impact on the environment Dairy farming can have a negative impact on the land. Pugging is what happens when the cows walk the same path repetitively from the grazing fields to the milking sheds weakening the ground and destroying the soil,
making the ground muddy and causing the grass to be crushed.
This affects the way the grass grows and decreases the quality of the soil, preventing grass from growing in the affected areas. The farmers resolve pugging by paving ‘races’ from the grassing fields to the milking shed. http://sci.waikato.ac.nz/farm/profile%20images/cows-and-pasture-pugging.jpg http://blogs.das.psu.edu/tetherton/wp-content/uploads/Smith-Parlor-Paint-September-2009.jpg
