So how do we create a successful landscape?
1) A HORIZON LINE
2) A FOREGROUND
The 4 Things you must always include are;
3) A MIDDLE GROUND
4) A BACKGROUND
the line where the land (or sea) seems to meet the sky
The horizon line is usually located in the middle of your paper!
the area in the front of an image, the closest part to the viewer.
The foreground is located at the bottom of your page.
There is more detail in the foreground!
MIDDLE & BACKGROUND:
These are located right where they sound!
Details disappear into the background!
Please finish the landscape drawing notes in your sketch journals.
Landscape drawing terms are your basics for creating landscape artworks.
These "Optical Drawing Techniques" are key drawing skills that will not only help your landscape drawing, BUT ALL of your drawing.
#1 Linear PERSPECTIVE
Create the DEPTH & SPACE in your landscape.
Landscape CREATE and EXPRESS
the distances or area(s) around, between and within things
when one object appears to be behind another
Smaller objects will look like they are in the distance (middle, back-ground). Closer objects should be larger!
