These causes affected different regions differently in the 1990s.
Europe, with the highest overall percentage of land degraded (23%), had as much as 9.8% of degradation due to deforestation and also suffered from over-cultivation (7.7%) and over-grazing (5.5%).
In contrast, Oceania had 13% of degraded farmland and this was mainly caused by over-grazing (11.3%). The impact of deforestation was minimal, with only 1.7% of land affected. North America had a lower proportion of degraded land at only 5%, and the main causes of this was over-cultivation (3.3) and, to a lesser extent, over-grazing (1.5%).

In conclusion, the underground railway systems in different cities vary a lot in the size of the system, the number of passengers served per year and in the age of the system.

Deciding where to live is one of life's more difficult choice. One may opt for life in the country or the city. In my opinion, life in the city is more advantageous, due to the fact that the city offers better economic and social opportunities.

Higher excise on liqueur and cigarettes has proven to be successful at curbing the harm caused by these substances. This revenue has been used to treat health problems associated with these products, has proven useful in advertising campaigns warning people about the dangers of alcohol and tobacco abuse and tax from fast food could be used in the same way. The United Kingdom is a prime example, where money from smokers is used to treat lung cancer and heart disease. However, some may argue that alcohol and tobacco are addictive substances and fast food should not be treated in the same way.
Increasing taxes would raise prices and lower consumption. Fast food companies would pass on these taxes to consumers in the form of higher prices and this would lead to people not being able to afford junk food. For instance, the cost of organic food has proven prohibitively expensive for most people. Despite this, people in many developed countries, where the problem is most acute, can afford price hikes and will continue to eat high fat meals.
In conclusion, junk food should be taxed at a higher rate because of the good precedent set by alcohol and tobacco and the fact that the increased cost should reduce the amount of fast food people buy. Finally, it is predicted that with the ever increasing health problems associated with obesity, governments are sure to introduce some kind of ‘fat tax’ in the near future.

There will normally be two question sentences and you should combine them into one sentence by using ‘and’ or ‘while’. This will allow you to produce a complex sentence and gain points for grammatical range and accuracy.

The pie graph shows the principal causes why farming land deteriorates while the table gives information about how three regions of the planet were affected by these factors in the 1990s.

We can clearly see from the pie chart that there are
