About
Zambia Thanks for Listening!!! Other Important Information Companies That Use Child Labour Yum, yum, yummy is what everyone says to chocolate. I agree chocolate is very good and yummy but have you ever thought of what its made of or even who made it??? This doesn't only go for chocolate it also goes for clothing stores of your favourite brands, shoe stores, and even electronic stores. There are a few companies that use children from Africa to make many products. Here let us tell you about some of them. NESTLE!!! A very popular chocolate company. I bet not many of you heard about this but Nestle has just used unlawful child labour to make their chocolates. Also Nestle got sued for doing that. A women's clothing store named Victoria's Secret uses child labour. Those are just a few examples but there are many more. Zambia has many, many children in child labour and many people that are unemployed. The total population in Zambia is 13, 474, 959 people. 1 886 494 people in Zambia are not employed and 5.576 million children are forced into child labour. The population below the poverty line in 2004 was 8 623 973 people. Also many of you may know Zambia is located in Africa and Africa is a developing country. children that is under fifteen years
old is not allowed to do work.

-There is a law about child labour,
and that law is a child that is between
13-15 are allowed if wanted to do LIGHT work that doesn't harm they're health. Why Does Child Labour Occur There???? Child labour happens there because Zambia is a developing country. The parents of the children can not afford to pay for the child's school and books, pencils and all the other supplies that they may need. Also there aren't many schools in Zambia so it is usually a 2 hour walk to and from school. If adults are doing the work the work may not be finished on time compared to the amount of adults working. As we told you before the total population of children working is 5.576 million and the population of unemployed people is 1 886 494. A Story About a Girl In Child Labour in Africa A 13-year-old girl named Clarisse is in child labour in Africa. She is working for Victoria's secret. She sleeps on a piece of plastic and is woken up early in the morning by shouting. She plants and picks cotton all day; sweating, and exhausted, rushing her work and running around like she has to get somewhere in the next second. She isn't anywhere she is going to stay in her work area but the thing is if she doesn't work hard or fast enough than she will get beat up with a tree branch by her boss. :( By: Jasmeen and Sasha
