Use more renewable energy.
Less fossil fuels.
Sunlight is easily available and converting it to energy will not affect the amount of sunlight that reaches earth
Solar energy can be used as a heat and energy source.
Can be used for heating water, for domestic use, space heating of buildings, drying agricultural products, and generating electrical energy.
Solar cells last a very long time, sometimes 30 years or more.
Panel Prices have dropped and will continue to drop as well.

How can WE increase the use of renewable energy?
Installed almost anywhere. (rooftops)
Can be stored.
Sustainable (it meets the needs of both the present and the future)
The sun is available all over the world .
Once the initial expenses are paid, solar panels provide free energy.
Solar panels can power planes, cars, trains, motorcycles, and buses.
Solar panels increase the cost of your house.
Has the ability to harness electricity in remote locations that are not linked to a national grid. ( in space, satellites are powered by solar cells.)
Sea life can be harmed by the blades of the open turbines.
Produces greenhouse gases
Releases emissions of carbon dioxide and methane.
Leads to floods in low-lying areas.
Devastation of environment around coal mines.
High cost of transporting coal to centralized power plants
Coal ash is a hazard and a disposal problem.
Coal plants release more radiation than nuclear plants.
Coal burning releases SOx and NOx which both cause acid rain.
High-known risks in an accident.
Long construction time.
Target for terrorism (as are all centralized power generation sources).
Waste lasts 200 – 500 thousand years.
Wind turbines can be a threat to wildlife (e.g. birds, bats).
Noise is regularly reported as a problem by neighboring homes.
Wind doesn’t generally blow reliably (Serious storms or high winds may cause harm to your wind turbine)
