THE AFTERMATH
Oil production slowed down due to the Gulf of mexico being affected by the hurricane
US economy downfall was limited to energy and ports activities
Majority of economist gave the US economy a B+to A for its response to hurricane Katrina

NEW ORLEANS
The community that suffered the most is the black community . People who were poor and could not afford to rebuild their houses or business
Other parts of New orleans especially the french quarter boomed after Katrina

Conclusion
Atleast 1,833 died from hurricane katrina ( so sad )
Thousands of people lost their jobs and were forced to move
Insured loses from katrina alone was 40 billion
200,000 homes were destroyed , mostly in New orleans and surrounding areas
11% of homes were destroyed or deemed uninhabitable in new orleans
