Believed to have been written by monks on the island of Iona possibly before A.D. 800
Then moved to the town of Kells, Ireland after Iona was plundered by Vikings in 805
Eventually it was moved to Trinity College in Dublin for safety reasons, to be protected from Cromwell’s soldiers.
