Answer- Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19, 1809. Question 2: Where was he born and what was his name at birth?
Answer: He was born in Boston and his name at birth was Edgar Poe. Question 3:Who were Poe’s birth parents and what happened to them?
Answer: Edgar's birth parents were David and Elizabeth Poe . Elizabeth Poe died in 1811 when Poe was only 2 years old. She had separated from her husband and had taken 3 kids with her. Henry went to live with his grandparents and Rosalie was taken by another family member. Edgar grew up in good surroundings and went to good schools. Question 4: Who were Poe’s foster parents? Tell me something about them.
Answer: Edgar was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. John Allan. Edgar grew up in good surroundings and went to good schools. John Allan was a successful merchant, so Edgar grew up in good surroundings and went to good schools. Question 5:What was Poe’s relationship with his foster-father? Give 3 to 4 specific examples to illustrate.
Answer: Poe’s relationship with his foster father wasn’t very good. His step father had plenty of money but only gave Edgar a third of what he needed. When Edgar moved to New York City, he had no friends, no job, and was in financial trouble. He sent a letter to John Allan for help but none came, later John Allan died and did not mention Edgar in his will. Question 5:What was Poe’s relationship with his foster-father? Answer: Then he later returned to school in America and returned his studies. He went to the University of Virginia at age 17. Although he was doing really well in school he became a heavy drinker and quickly became in debt. He had to quick school almost a year later. In 1826 is when he went to The University of Virginia. Question 8: Record or make a timeline of the names and dates of the places Poe lived during his lifetime.

Answer: Edgar Allan Poe's new genre was science fiction and mystery. Question 11: What famous work was published in 1841 and what was significant about it?

Answer: Poe married a girl whose name was Virginia. It was unusual because she was only 13 and he was 27 and she was his cousin. Question 14: What were some of the tragic events Poe faced during his life?
Answer: Some tragic events he faced began when he was only 2 years old, when his mother died. He also faced some struggle with handling money. He became in debt and had no job. His step father gave him no money. Question 15: Who were the important women in Poe’s life and when did they die? How did they die?
Answer: Some important women in Poe’s life was his mother, foster mother and his wife. His mother died in 1811, his wife died in 1842. They all died due to tuberculosis, that disease also killed his brother Question 16: Do you think many of the themes of Poe’s work can be explained by the events in his life? Explain and show supports.
Answer: I think that his writing reflect to the loss of so many people he had loved. For example “The Raven” is about his wife who had passed and he had loved dearly. Question 17: Poe was described as opinionated, romantic, impractical, arrogant, ingenious, creative, intelligent, and restless. Cite examples from your research that would support these descriptions.
Answer: He was romantic because at night, him and his wife would sing love songs together. He is Creative because it shows in his writing. It takes a very creative person to write poetry and publish it. He is also restless, because he drank a lot and became in debt at such a young age. Question 18: Do you think Poe’s frequent moves impacted his work? Explain.
Answer: Yes, because he was so desperate for a job. Also, I think that the more places you move and different scenes you see help you be a better writer. Question 19: There are 13 theories on what caused Poe’s death. List at least five of them. Which one do you think was the most plausible?
1)The Alcohol theory
2)Disease and Other Medical Problems
3)The Cooping Theory
I think that the alcohol theory is the most plausible because he drank A LOT, and his body just finally gave out on him. I also do think that the beating theory is also kind of plausible because they say they did find his body in an ally.
