Transcript of Artemis

Artemis Daughter of Zeus and Leto, twin sister of Apollo. Goddess of forests and hills, child birth, virginity, fertility, the moon, and the hunt. Often seen in pictures or statues in a forest setting, carrying a silver bow and arrows, with a moon above her head accompanied by a deer. At the age of three, Artemis went up to her father, Zeus, and asked him to grant her eternal virginity. A great temple was built in her honor, which became one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World". She was worshipped in most of the Greek cities as a secondary deity, but as a prominent deity to the Greeks in Asia Minor.
