The skeleton provides 4 main functions:
Shape and support
Protection
Movement
Blood production

Provides Shape and Support
It is the "building blocks" of your body.
Those organs don't get called "vital for nothing!
The muscles pull the bones to make the joints move.
More on different types of joints another day.
As if your skeleton didn't have enough to do, it also produces blood cells. These deliver vital gases around your body.
Your task:

Cut out the bones from the worksheet
Stick them in your notebooks
Label them using Pg 69 of PE in Action
Provides Shape and Support
Exam style questions:
Name the bone in the upper arm.
Give 2 functions of the skeleton, with a sporting example of each.
There are 4 main types of bone:
