Humans create pollution
Anything can cause pollution
Pollution is anything harmful added to the environment
Pollution can spread through air, soil, and water
Biggest pollution disasters is oil
Oil blocks out the light and stops oxygen from mixing into the water
Oil pollution can damage coastal habitats for decades
The oil also damages the feathers of sea birds preventing them from flying
Noise pollution is a particular problem in the ocean
sound travels long distances in water
some animals such as whales communicate by singing and noise can interfere with that
The noise that comes out of submarines and ships confuses the animals in the sea
Light and noise can cause pollution
the animals that live in the dark can be confused and mostly when it comes to light
For example, sea turtles hatch in the sand and when they come out of the sand then get confused by light and head a different direction
Baby sea turtles don't reach the ocean water because of the light pollution and that's why they are endangered.
Plastic does not decay like as natural materials
All of our plastic that we throw out into the ocean, animals eat it and choke
Plastic fragments are dangerous for animals
Some animals mistake plastic for food and feed plastic to their babies
