SCOTLAND MAP Politics -Scotland has no prime minister, as it is part of Great Britain. The current prime minister of Britain is David Cameron. -Scotland also share the same
currency as Britain but print their
own version called scottish notes. - The most recent prime minister that was scottish was Gordon Brown who was from Lanarkshire and attended the university of Edinburgh. He resigned in 2010. Tourism There are many different reasons to go to Scotland. It is famous for its historic castles, traditional highland games and beautiful lakes. FAMOUS PEOPLE - Sean Connery - Sir Alex Ferguson - Kenny Dalglish Mary Queen of Scotts - Ewan McGregor - - Robert Carlisle Did you know? -the population of Scotland is 5,222,100.
-Scotland's national animal is the unicorn.
-their national anthem is "flower of Scotland"
-established in1908,RAF Leuchers in Fife is the oldest continuously operating air base in the world.
-the modern game of golf originated in Scotland in the 15th century.
-the first international
rugby match was
played in Scotland
-kilts originated in
Ireland NOT Scotland. Sport Football was played in Scotland as early as the 15 century.The national team play in navy and white. the sport is governed by the SFA (Scottish football association).
The football league in Scotland is called the SPL. Sport Tennis- Scotland have one of Britain's greatest players of all time in Andy Murray
who recently won gold at the olympics and won the US Open to add the first major of his career. Rugby- Scotland has never won the new "Six Nations" trophy but they won the 5 mations back in 1999. Scotland also did very
well in the olympics as
a part of team GB
receiving 7 gold medals. Music Scotland have many famous artists such as: -Susan Boyle
