The self winding clocks started to become used from the late 1800's until around mid 1900's. Self winding clocks were important in history for many reasons. The clocks supplied robust and time you could depend on for synchronization. The clocks helped with railroads and other transportation industries. Factories, schools, stores, and other businesses also used the self winding clock.
