Local area network
A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that interconnects computers within a limited area such as a home, school, computer laboratory, or office building, using network media.
What is the VLAN?
A VLAN is a set of workstations within a LAN that can communicate with each other as though they were on a single, isolated LAN.
VLAN's allow a network manager to logically segment a LAN into different broadcast domains .VLAN's also allow broadcast domains to be defined without using routers.

What is DNS?
The DNS translates Internet domain and host names to IP addresses. DNS automatically converts the names we type in our Web browser address bar to the IP addresses of Web servers hosting those sites.
How the DNS works?
Internet Protocol address.

An IP address is assigned to every computer on an Ethernet network.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
DHCP is a client/server protocol that automatically provides an Internet Protocol (IP) host with its IP address and other related configuration information such as the subnet mask and default gateway.
