family tree
The gods had special powers that the Greeks say made life in Greece possible.
Some myths say the gods picked sticks and Zeus got the biggest so he got the sky. Hades got the smallest so he got the underworld and Poseidon got middle one and so he got the sea.
The Greeks believed that the gods controlled the life of Greece. Ex: the Greeks thought that when they fell in love that they sometimes asked Aphrodite if they could marry.
