Interactive Science Notebooks why? how? what? Students are engaged in thinking. Students feel “ownership” because they are creating meaningful knowledge for themselves. Students use multiple intelligences Note taking becomes an active process Notebooks help students to systematically organize as they learn Notebooks become a portfolio on individual learning Notebooks are a way for students to strengthen language skills a record of students' experiences a place where students formulate and record their questions, make predictions, record data, procedures, and results, compose reflections, and communicate findings notebooks provide a place for students to record new concepts they have learned There is no “right” or “wrong” way.
