Law of Conservation of Energy Advantages and Disadvantages Use in Daily Life How is this Energy Used How is Mechanical Energy transferred to other forms of energy? The End!!! Mechanical Energy is the energy a substance of system has because of its motion. It is the sum of potential and kinetic energy. The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy may neither created nor destroyed. However, energy can be changed from one form to another. Advantages of Mechanical Energy are that this energy source does not run out and can also be converted into other forms of energy. Disadvantages of Mechanical Energy is that the machines that let you have the benefits of Mechanical Energy can create safety issues and also become worn out and costly to fix. Mechanical Energy is also inefficient to try to send over long distances.Friction in ropes, gears and other mechanisms turn much of the useful energy into heat before it reaches its destination. This energy is used in quite a few ways. For example, roller coasters. The mechancal aspects include the gears and belts that carry the car up the track. When the car is sitting on the top of the track, that is potential mechanical energy. Once the car goes down the hill, that is kinetic mechanical energy. Mechanical Energy is used in automobiles. It can also be used in places like hotels to power exercise equipment. Mechanical Energy is used when running or anything ivolving movement. This is why Mechanical Energy is referred to as "The Energy of Motion". Machines transfer Mechanical Energy into other types of energy or other types of energy into Mechanical Energy.
