What is it? Heroin Heroin is a highly addictive narcotic with longterm effects such as physical dependence. Street Names Smack, junk, dope What does it look like? Heroin is found in a powder form ranging in color from white to dark brown because of impurities from the manufacturing process. Heroin is usually smoked or injected. When smoked, it enters the brain and is converted to morphine and binds to opioid receptors. How can I tell? 1. Behavior changes
2. Drug accessories
3. Money troubles
4. Possible needle marks
5. Drop in work and school performance So.. Where does it come from? Heroin is a chemical substance that comes from the opium poppy plant. Side Effects Some physical side effects include illness, vomiting, rapid heart rate, clammy sking, coma, and even death Psychological side effects include mood swings, confusion, and paranoia. Dangers and risks Herion is dangerous because it is very addictive and can kill you. What does it do? Heroin erases pain and gives the user a pleasurable experience Medical use? Heroin is not used for medical treatment in the United States, but is in other countries.
