Address This speech was given by Abraham Lincoln It was part of a larger dedication of a memorial at the site It was given about 4 months after the battle itself This is what Abraham Lincoln said... My Interview with President Lincoln This speech became one of the most famous speeches in US history. It is sometimes quoted even today. In the book "Across Five Aprils," Irene Hunt introduces the Gettysburg Address through Jethro and his parents reading about it in the paper. Jethro is conflicted about people's opinions on the speech. President Lincoln did go on to write 3 more versions of the address. The only one that he signed was the last one he wrote. It was given at the battlefield in Gettysburg, PA Thanks for listening to my report!
