What is a prefix?
A syllable added to the end of a word in order to modify its meaning.
Prefixes
A prefix is a syllable placed before a
word used to modify its meaning.
Non:
Not or without
Examples:
nonsense- without sense.
nonfat- without fat.
nontoxic- without toxins
Mis-
Bad or badly
wrong or wrongly
Examples:
misbehave- to behave badly
misread- to read wrong
misspell- to spell wrong
reduce down, away from, or loss
Examples:
deactivate-loss of activation,
deform- loss of form
decrease- to reduce
What is a Suffix?
Suffixes
Examples:
enjoyment- the act of enjoying.
replacement- the act of replacing.
agreement- the act of agreeing.
