Transcript of Tropical Savannah

Aniaml/ Plant Adaptation
Ecological Issues
Weeds- They choke rivers causing the water supply to diminish, make living unsuitible for native vegetation
Early Fires Kill grazing areas for animals, and are not ready for migrating herds
The use of woody plants for fuel deprive the soil of important nutrients
The Tropical Savanna
Located in parts of Africa, Australia, India, Brazil
Large grasslands with lots of species of diverse animals
Has both dry and wet climates
Diverse Vegetation
Has hills, valleys , flat lands, rivers, gullies
Temperature- At or above 64 degrees Fahrenheit
Precipitation- 30-50 inches of rainfall per year
Biotic Factors
Sun provides for grass and other vegetation
Grass is the main food source for herbivores
Carnivores then eat the herbivores

Predator Prey relationship
If zebras aren't careful when drinking water they will be eaten by crocodiles
Nile, Niger, Zambezi, Zaire River, Lake Chad~Africa
Lake Mackay, Argyle,Eyre, Cooper Creek, Darling River~ Australia
Amazon, Sao Fransico, Aruguala, Parnalba,Puru,Arugulia, Tocutinas, Iris, River~ Brazil
Catastrophic events
Human Impact
The savannah is estimated to become a forest by 2100
The poaching of endangered animals
We take up land to build structures
We take other animal's food
This will lead to no grazing for animals and then eventually extinction of Savanna animals
Wilder beasts will migrate according to food source and quantity, They migrate to find new grasslands
Baobab Trees use their bark as a water saving organ
Zebras camouflage when the together in herds, the predator cant tell where the stripes begin or end so the cant focus on just one zebra
