5. What sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors?
Sensors for locomotion include joint position, joint force, ground contact, ground load, a gyroscope, LIDAR and a stereo vision system. Other sensors focus on the internal state of BigDog, monitoring the hydraulic pressure, oil temperature, engine functions, battery charge and others.

4.How is the robot taught to perform its tasks?
The robot is programmed to fulfill its duties, and to even listen to peoples commands on the battle field, such as telling Big Dog how far to walk forward, and how far to walk to the left. Big Dog is controlled by a computer that helps it to maintain its balance while navigating through rough terain. Big Dog has also been programmed to carry supplies while marching alongside soldiers on the battlefield.
6. Name some advantages and disadvantages of using a robot to complete this task.
When using Big Dog in the Military soldiers don't have to rely on support helicopters and utility vehicles to transport there supplies. The robot Big Dog can carry loads consisting of 340 pounds so soldiers don't need to carry there equipment on themselves.

Big Dog has four legs and each leg consists of 3 joints that can be repositioned 500 times every second, which means it can withstand a heavy blow to its body.
If so what other tasks can it perform?
Big Dog is multi-functional, meaning it can help soldiers, and even runs at 4 mph. Climbing slopes up to 35 degrees, walking across rubble, climbing muddy hiking trails, walking in snow and water, and carrying 340 lb loads are all some other tasks Big Dog can accomplish.
7.Describe the impact this robot has had on its intended audience.
It was built to carry military equipment along side soldiers in rough terrain, and so far has attracted millions of viewers.
8. What types of jobs/careers can this robot help create to provide employment for people?
The careers available are helpdesk technician, Electrical Engineering Co-op, Electrical Engineering technician, Electrical Engineer, Advanced Electrical Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, and Software Perception Engineer.
9.Predict and Explain how this robot may be altered to perform more or different tasks in the future.
In the future Big Dog may be built to handle more weight so it can carry injured soldiers out of the battle field.
