Colossians 1:15-23
p. 833
John 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
Exodus 33:20 But,” (God) said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”
Job 1:20-21    At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”
Option A:
Personal relationship with a spiritual guy who died on the cross for your sins
A personal relationship with: the Creator of the Universe, the Beginning, who has power over evil, who all things point toward, who holds all things together, who gives you breath, founder of a new humanity that has conquered death, the peace-maker, who came in the flesh, holy and blameless and died an innocent death in your place.
The gospel:
We declared war on God
Jesus made & offers us a peace treaty
We have to sign it
