The median annual Artist salary is $50,077,with a range usually between $42,525-$58,185. The average wage for a Fine Artist, Including Painter, Sculptor, or Illustrator is $19.92 per hour.
Working Conditions
Many different artists work in different conditions whether it be inside or outdoors. A fine artist may work in a fine or commercial art studios situated in office buildings, warehouses or lofts. A personal artist will most likely work in a private place such as their own house or private studios.
