What happened in the library
during February 2011 Circulation Class Visits New Books 52 class visits 1,154 books were checked out 29 new books Ms. Yukari recommends what we read Top Circulating Books: Rotary Readers Author Visit San Francisco-based author Oliver Chin (http://www.immedium.com/authors/chin_o.html) visited Robinson on February 9 to talk about the writing process with the 4th graders. The PTA kindly donated three books by Mr. Chin to the library. The Manhattan Beach Rotary Club sends volunteer Rotary Readers to the elementary libraries each year to read to the students. This year the volunteers who came to Robinson read Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed to the 1st & 2nd graders. The club was also kind enough to donate $180 to each of the libraries (I bought 19 books). Congratulations to 5th grader Mia W. (on the left) for correctly identifying 22 of the 25 titles in the Title Guessing Contest! There were more than 20 4th and 5th graders (including 5th grader Georgia K. on the right) who answered 21 correctly. As a prize they will be getting treats from Becker's Bakery. Awesome Jokes
