Mardi Gras Introduction Mardi gras is a french celebration that takes place 46 days before easter (le Pâques). This is means it is sometime between 3 February and 9 March. Mardi Gras is the day before Lent (le carême)- which happens on ash Wednesday (le mercredi des Cendres). The most famous Mardi Gras celebration is in New Orleans (la Nouvelle-Orléans). Mardi Gras mean Fat Tuesday in English! Les Couleurs de Mardi Gras (Official colours of Mardi Gras) The Three official colours of the Mardi Gras is Purple, gold and green. ~ Le violet - Purple - Justice

~ Le vert - Green - Faith (Clothing) By Crystal Activities In celebrations, there are usually social conventions, dancing, sport competition. Mardi Gras is traditionally celebrated by a captain leading a parade. The parade is then followed by a costume ball that the king and queen presides. Anglican and Catholic European nations usually celebrate by having carnivals. Le déguisement Le Nourriture At mardi gras people eat food like crêpes and cakes.
