The alarm clock inventor Plato The first alarm clock mentioned historically is one used by Plato, possibly to signal the beginning of his dawn lectures. It is said to have emitted an organ-like sound. WHAT? WHEN did Plato invent the alarm clock? WHERE? The first alarm clock was invented by Plato. WHO invented the alarm clock? WHY did Plato make the alarm clock? Plato Plato was a philosopher in Classical Greece. He was also a mathematician , student of Socrates, writer of philosophical dialogues, and founder of the Academy in Athens. The first alarm clock was invented between 428 and 348 BCE. Plato made the alarm clock so he could wake up for his dawn lectures. The first alarm clock was made in Athens.
