PCSD Mission Statement Park City District Initiatves The mission of the Park City School district, in partnership with the home and community, is to provide:
varied educational opportunities

The IB Middle Years Programme, for students aged 11 to 16, provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers Differentiation: Providing students with different avenues to acquiring content; to processing, constructing, or making sense of ideas; and to developing teaching materials so that all students within a classroom can learn effectively, regardless of differences in ability.[1 eMints: An instructional model that integrates high-quality lesson planning, inquiry-based learning, and classroom community, all powered by technology. The Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) are a set of procedures and measures for assessing the acquisition of early literacy skills from kindergarten through sixth grade. U-PASS is the state accountability system for schools. U-PASS determines the proficiency and progress for each school using multiple assessments and indicators. An annual school report card is released each year that indicates if the school achieved the state standard as defined by the U-PASS criteria. Curriculum Instruction Assessment Journeys (Reading) SIOP eMints 1-to-1 SIOP: an instructional framework for making content comprehensible for ELLs via building background, input methods, interaction, strategies, practice, and review. Differentiation DIBELs Response to Intervention U-Pass System (CRTs) Response to intervention integrates assessment and intervention within a multi-level prevention system to maximize student achievement and to reduce behavior problems. With RTI, schools identify students at risk for poor learning outcomes, monitor student progress, provide evidence-based interventions and adjust the intensity and nature of those interventions depending on a student’s responsiveness, and identify students with learning disabilities or other disabilities.
