Festivals and Feast days
Introduction
Despite the fact that unlike other major religions Christianity does not have any binding rules as such that apply to food. But it is still important; it is mentioned in the bible frequently.
.food is a blessing
.there are no restrictions on food
.the bible strongly rebukes excess, gluttony and drunkenness
. Christians traditionally bless any food before eating it with a mealtime prayer (grace), as a sign of thanking God for the meal they have.

Also....
.Many christians fast during lent for 40 days and nights, some give up a particular food item
.Bread and wine are shared by christians in Eucharist
.Catholics fast for 3 hours before receiving holy communion
.Before the Eucharistic celebrations there are offerings of food to the altar.-(catholic)

.is a diet promoted by by writer and motivational speaker Jordan S. Rubin
.is based on teachings from the books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy and other books of the bible
Foods permitted by bible diet
The types of foods that can be eaten include:

Grains - barley, corn, millet, oats, rice, rye, wheat
Seeds - sunflower, sesame, flax, pumpkin
Legumes - soybeans, lentils, peas, peanuts, other beans
Succulent foods containing seed - bell peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, green beans, melons, okra, pumpkins, squash, tomatoes
Fruits - citrus fruits such as lemons and limes, palm fruits, sweet fruits
Nuts - almonds, Brazil nuts, cashew nuts, pecans, walnuts
Herbs (vegetables): beet greens, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, collard, globe artichoke, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, potatoes, turnips
The types of animals that can be eaten include:

Livestock - cow, deer, lamb, caribou, buffalo, elk, goat, moose
Fish - bass, bluefish, crappie, perch, pike, salmon, sunfish, trout
Birds - chicken, turkey, pheasant, grouse, quail
Insects - locusts, crickets, grasshoppers
Food in christianity
.Christmas- food such as turkey and mince pies are consumed in Britain
.Easter- foods such as hot cross buns and Simnel cake are eaten in Britain
.Harvest- during Harvest, some christians donate food to food banks etc. as a way of thanking God for the food given to them.
