Literary Devices in Songs/Poems
THEME: Dedication
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All you perfect imperfection
Mirrors by Justin Timber lake
Just Give Me a Reason by P!NK ft. Nate Ruess
THEME: Dedication
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
THEME: Dedication
I chose Just Give Me a Reason and All of Me because of their great use of words and literary devices. The way they express the lyrics makes it seem very personal so the listener is more interested in hearing the words .
Mirrors- Justin Timberlake
If you ever feel alone and
The glare makes me hard to find
Just know that I'm always
Parallel on the other side
Just Give Me a Reason- P!NK ft. Nate Ruess
All of Me- John Legend
The vacancy that sat in my heart/ Is a space that now you hold--- (Personification)
It's in the stars/ It's been written in the scars on our hearts---- (Classical Allusion)
All of Me by John Legend
All your perfect imperfections--- (Oxymoron)
I liked Mirrors because it's very upbeat yet has a deep meaning. I also like the use of instruments in the background.
