Why do athletes engage with the media?
Assignment Task 1a:
As an aspiring sports journalist, you have been asked to produce a report to highlight important factors to be considered when giving media interviews. Your report should be designed to help athletes prepare for their prospective interaction with the media.

Research two different types of sporting interview of your choice, think about the factors that you need to consider when dealing with the media, based upon the reports that you have read and clips you have watched. Think about why it is important that you adopt these strategies.

Consider: Types of media interview: eg television (local and national), radio (local and national), print media (local newspapers, national newspapers, specialist magazines, club magazines).
