Summary
"Gossip Girl" is centered around several New York teenagers. Each one encounters problems such as eating disorders, drugs, drama and much more. They battle these problems all while having their personal life broadcast to their friends and family by Gossip Girl.

Why?
The "Gossip Girl" book series was challenged on multiple accounts for drug use, being sexually explicit, and using offensive language.

After being challenged, it was decided that "Gossip Girl" should be banned. Upon being banned, the books were removed from the library.

My opinion!
"Gossip Girl" was banned in...
In my opinion, "Gossip Girl" should not have been banned. Many valid points were made as to why some did not feel it was appropriate for their children to read, however they should not be allowed to keep others from reading the books.

Most of the events in the series were based on her own experiences. She grew up in NYC and lived a very simialr lifestyle to the characters.
