Heat Transfers What is Heat Transfer? Heat Transfer is when heat moves or travels from one place to another in one of the three forms. The 3 forms of heat transfer are: Conduction Conduction: Conduction is the transfer of heat energy between substances that are in contact. For example touching a hot stove and then getting burned. Convection Convection is the transfer of heat that happens when heated gas or liquid particles move from one location to another. This only happens in gases or liquids. In convection the warmer
air rises and the cooler air
sinks. An example of this is
a hot air balloon. Radiation Convection Radiation The learning Goal Our Learning goal is to help you understand the different types of heat transfers and how they work Definition Radiation is the transfer of heat energy in the form of radiant heat waves. An example is the sun. The sun's heat waves provides warmth on the earth that is radiation. This is a game we have for you guys:
