Effective Communication
Characteristics
Effective Communication:

Is a two-way process - sending the right message, that is also being correctly received and understood by the other person/s.
Effective communication
We have to make
sure that our communication
is good. What we have
to improve ?
Well, there are 2 pitfalls
when it comes to
communication:

1. Not communicating enough

2.Communicating too much
That is Right
For example:
21 emails between 3 people
to decide on a font size
But no one sends the final
letter because everyone
forgot to check who was going to
do it.
Ha ha ha ha
yes,it may look LOVELY
But it is completely ineffective
Developing good
communication is a very
powerful skill and it is free
So...
StoryTelling
Are we communicating
well?
To communicate well
we need to know:
What is being asked of us

When it is needed by

Who to tell

How it should be communicated
And most importantly
We need to understand how it
affects the rest of our team.
Do we really know what
we all Do?
Timing is
Important
Yupii
Don´t send things
last thing on FRYDAY
or things on MONDAY
Don´t bombard people
they get sick of us
reading an email thread all the way to the bottom before
forwarding it?
Don´t blame others when you drop the ball
(it will happen to everyone)
Support group
member's ideas
Listening actively !
Get involved! - share suggestions and help, will be
there when you need it...
Celebrated triumph,
but NO bragging!
Communicate with your fellow workers if
something isn't working out!
To be an effective
team member...
And Remember:

Talent win games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.
Have you Thought about...
whether the mailing you are about to send adheres to the data protection act?
whether the person receiving your communication will feel confident to respond?
will the person responding know WHAT they are responding
to?
