Gun Control Democrats Republicans Libertarians Overall Topic ff Democrats on: Gun Control By: Eli, Grayson, Eftihi, Nik Over v

+ Party's Stance The Democrats are for more regulation on the selling, purchase and ownership of firearms. They also heavily oppose fully automatic weapons and assault weapons Scott Adams, a Democrat, once said "I believe everybody in the world should have guns. Citizens should have bazookas and rocket launchers too. I believe that all citizens should have their weapons of choice. However, I also believe that only I should have the ammunition. Because frankly, I wouldn't trust the rest of the goobers with anything more dangerous than string" Party's Stance Another example of Democrats wanting to put more bureaucracy into the process of buying and owning guns is show in a quote from Robert Menendez who said "Why would we want to walk the streets wondering, ‘Who has a gun in their pockets?'" These quotes show how most democrats would be in favor of heavy gun control laws. Their support of strict gun control is shown in the party's support of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban. To give you an idea of what "Assault weapons" are here is a short video The Libertarian party believes in minimum government interference in American citizens' lives and as a result believe that there should be no gun control laws that restrict an American citizen's right to bear arms. what Republicans want:
-They strongly oppose gun control law
-Right to obtain and store ammunition without registration.
-Open more public land to hunting
-No frivolous gun lawsuits, no gun licensing.
-Will protect right to bear arms.
-They believe that it is unconstitutional to restrict our right to bear arms THIS CARTOON SHOWS HOW THE REPUBLICANS
OPPOSE TO GUN CONTROL LAWS BECAUSE "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" Gun Control Since the 19Th century many have either strongly opposed or strongly supported Gun Control Laws. The First Gun control laws were first introduced in the early 19Th century. Since then Gun Control has become a very popular and controversial topic. Many political parties today either strongly oppose or strongly support Gun Control. Their is no fine line in between. People think laws are to harsh and unconstitutional. Laws that were made to control Guns are abolished or amended for more firearm freedom. Laws supporting the control of Guns are made. More Gun Restrictions Less Gun Restrictions Gun Control Flow Libertarians Republicans Democrats Gun control is like prohibition and prohibition led to organized crime, bloody violent turf wars, and in the end it was abolished anyway. We should learn a lesson from prohibition and not put bans on gun owning Americans. Crimes committed with guns were with guns that were obtained illegally. Putting more enforcement on keeping guns out of the hands of people, will only be hurting law abiding american citizens and will not stop criminals form obtaining fire-arms. "Taking my gun away because I might shoot someone is like cutting my tongue off because i might yell "fire" in a crowded theater" - peter venetolkis you know why there's a second amendment? in case the government fails to follow the first one. -rush limbaugh firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. they are American peoples liberty, teeth and keystone under independence. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. -George Washington -Oldest Party in existence
-Supported Slavery during civil war
-Against raising combat pay and defense budget in general
-One of it's leaders, Harry Truman, authorized the largest bombing of civilian targets in history, twice. THE END About republicans:
- founded in 1854 by anti-slavery activists
- They replaced the whig party
-the first republican president was Abraham Lincoln
- they believe that the united states need a bigger military
- They live by the term "free labor, free land and free men
