Transcript of catching fire

Introduction Inferences Catching Fire Setting a mood On page 174 it states that "My body reacts before my mind and I'm running out the door, across the lawns of the Victor's Village, into the dark beyond".The mood the author is trying to set is sad and scared. Katniss is sad and scared because she has to go back to the Hunger Games and fight for her life all over again. It was horrible once, she doesn't know what will happen to her know. It will be even harder because she has to face 22 other victors that survived the Games and have different and unique strategies of killing and surviving. Another scene that represents the same mood is on page 327. "Am I? I drift in and out of consciousness looking for a answer. Am I as good as dead? I'm in no position to make a argument to the contrary". Katniss is scared she doesn't want to die and she doesn't know what is happening to her right now. I'm sure you have read the award winning book The Hunger Games. Catching Fire is the second book of The Hunger Games. If you loved the Hunger Games I'm sure you would love Catching Fire even more. Katniss is at the risk of starting a rebellion against the Capitol and one might be starting. Katniss and Peeta get sent into the Quarter Quell. It happened every 25 years and 2 victors from each district have to go and fight for their lives. But this time Katniss has to act super in love with Peeta, but she actually loves Gale. Emotional Feelings On page 164, Katniss is in bed thinking. "Staying quietly in bed is harder after that I want to be doing something, finding out more about district 13 or helping in the cause to bring down the Capitol". Katniss is frustrated and is feeling upset because she can't find out anything that is happening. Katniss feels the same on page 263 when she sees Cinna get beat up by the peacekeepers. "I'm screaming my head off, banging on the unyielding glass, trying to reach him. The peacekeepers ignore me completely as they drag Cinna's limp body from the room". Katniss is frustrated and really upset. Because she just saw Cinna get beat up for no reason and she couldn't do anything. Title Page The book I did my major book report on was Catching Fire. The main characters are Katniss, Peeta, Gale,Finnick and Haymitch. Most of you have read the Hunger Games and were left wondering what will happen next. Everything has changed. Katniss and Peeta are sent back to the games and have to fight with the previous victors of the Hunger Games. Every hour is a new mystery. Before reading the book Catching Fire, I inferred 3 things. Peeta and Gale might have a fight for Katniss. My second inference was that Katniss might start a rebellion against the Capitol. My last inference was that the Capitol might try to kill Katniss or one of her family members. I got all my inferences from the Hunger Games. My last inference was correct. The Capitol were almost controlling Katniss. They wanted to kill Katniss but they couldn't, if they did it would have started a rebellion. Story Board
