The Burchfield Penney Art Center
Art Galleries In Buffalo
Buffalo is a beautiful area but it is sometimes overlooked or unappreciated by tourists and locals. People focus more on the negative aspects of an area than they do the hidden treasures a place that has much to offer. The Burchfield Penney Art Center features local Buffalo area artists that create pieces that highlight the positive sites within Buffalo and its surrounding areas. We were able to see many of these pieces when we visited the Burchfield Penney Art Galley. This is just one of many reasons why we believe its important for people to go out and visit local galleries like the Burchfield Penney and the Albright Knox Art Galleries.
Supporting Local Artists
Another benefit to visiting the Burchfield Penney Art Center is that by visiting the gallery we got to support local artist. The Burchfield Penney gives talented local artists an opportunity to have their work displayed in a gallery for the public to be able to visually enjoy.

The last benefit to visit the Burchfield Penney Art Center is the beautiful area surrounding the gallery. Walk out the door of the Burchfield and you will find yourself in the middle of the Elmwood Village and all the small local area shops.

You also can take a stroll down to Hoyt Lake and take a canoe out for a paddle around the lake. So, not only can you enjoy a day at the gallery, but you can also experience a fun filled day in the city.
Exibitions At The Burchfield Penney
Another reason why we are impressed by the Burchfield Penney Art Center is because they feature exhibitions done by local artists that highlighting some of Buffalo's most well known features. It is easier for an individual to appreciate a piece of art when he or she can relate the piece to their own life and their own personal experiences.

"Learning can be fun and easy. Through my experiences at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, I've learned a different perspective and approach to art. This new perspective was beneficial to me as I learned to grow as an individual in a unique and friendly environment. I would definitely recommend Burchfield Penney to people and children of all ages to experience something a bit different and new. Learning can come in many different shapes and sizes, might as well pick one worth your time."

"Going to the Burchfield Penney Art Center has
helped mold the way I not only look at art but also the way I critically think and problem solve. I would recommend that any high school age or college are student pay a visit to the gallery if they find themselves having trouble in school or in their personal lives. Not only can it be a relaxing fun experience, it may also help individuals with the way they look at problems they encounter in their every day lives."
"When we went to the Burchfield Penney Art
Center I found that the longer I looked at a
piece the more small details I began to
notice! Now I know when I go to a gallery
in the future I have to take my time and
enjoy what I am looking at"
