Medical Robots Da Vinci Robotic system

By: Crystal Wang Tasks Joints How does the robot know what to do? Future Images Advantage/
Disadvantages Thanks for Viewing! The Da Vinci robotic system is a robot that performs surgery. It helps surgeons eliminate human errors, and increase precision.
It has 4 arms used for holding scalpel, camera (helping the surgeon know where the arms are at), forceps, etc. Even thought the Da Vinci robotic arms are inside the patient doing the surgery, the real work is done by surgeons. For the Da Vinci arms to work properly, the surgeon must sit in a console and tell the arms what to do. Inside the console, the surgeon's hands and feet are working the arms, telling it what to cut/stitch. Every machine has disadvantages, including the Da Vinci surgical system. The Da Vinci system is a robot, therefore it can experience technical difficulties. If an emergency does occur, the surgical team is standing right next to the robot and is ready to perform the surgery. Also, having the Da Vinci robot do the surgery helps the patient recover quicker. I think that the Da Vinci surgical system can perform more difficult surgeries in the future, and we will have it in many hospitals instead of just a couple of hospitals. These robotic arms can move back and forth, and side to side much like human arms. These joints give it a wide range of flexibilty. Camera and forceps
