Transcript of Efe tribe.

The tribe is located in the Ituri Rainforest in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are one of the three tribes there and they are the biggest of the three. African languages over time have stopped using Bambuti languages but the Efe tribe is one of few who stil use it. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.joshuaproject.net/ The Efe religion deals with myths and legends such as myths in creation and legends of origin and tradtion. They also believe int the supernatural.

They also have a religious ceremony called the Ima ceremony. it is when girls reach a certain age and have been secluded with other girls for a period of time and they are carried back out the the tribe. A rite of passage is a tradition where it marks a persons progress. a rite of passage the the Efe's have is the Ima ceremony where a girl reaches a certain age and is allowed to be apart of the tribe again. Defforestation is becoming a big issue them.
