Transcript of industrial revolution
Vol XCIII, No. 311
it took place in Britain
this is the spinning jenny
thomas edison was an inventor and scientist.
some of the things he invented where...
the light bulb
and many other things
It helped to make pure iron without the use of coal and also helped make specialty metal
Britain had a lot of things working for it that other nations didn't.
Britain had a large amount of capital that could be used for investing in a new industry.
the industrial revolution changed Britain's world status majorly Since the output of goods like textiles started to increase, Britain was able to stimulate its economic and technological growth, leading to its powerful economic capability.
In 1909 Marconi shared a Nobel prize with the German physicist Karl F. Braun, the inventor of the cathode ray tube.
inventor of many things...
He invented puddling which made molten pig iron into pure iron
Henry Bessemer invented the first process for mass-producing steel inexpensively
this also helped with building skyscrapers
it began sometime around 1760.
industrialism affected the life of many britts because it made life easier and more officiant.
Steam powered boats and train tracks helped economic growth during 1807
They both made it easier and faster to transport goods
James watt invented the steam engine. It was one of the most important inventions in the industrial revolution, although steam did not replace water power in importance in Britain until after the industrial revolution. It was made in 1775.
the wright brothers
The inventors of the first airplane were Orville and Wilbur Wright. On December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers made the first successful experiment in which a machine carrying a man rose by its own power, flew naturally and at even speed, and descended without damage. There first flight went 120 feet in 12 seconds. The second flight they went 852 feet in 59 seconds.
invented a machine called the spinning jenny,
Robert Fulton invented many things, including...
the first practical submarine
the first steam boat
the spinning jenny was made to make
cotton into thread very quickly
this made trade and transportation faster
Why they made factories
1. the machines were starting to get to big for being in houses
2. they cost to much to buy for personal use
He was a self-made man leading during the industrial revolution. He achieved combining power, when he invented a way to power a spinning machine with just water.
Marconi attached an antenna first to a balloon, which blew away, and then to a kite on a 500-foot tether. On December 12, 1901, he picked up a faint three-dot sequence—the Morse Code letter “s.”
way to power a spinning machine with water
Five improvements trains and railroads brought
a working paddle steamer
They made transporting goods faster
It also made transporting people faster
Transporting with trains was a lot cheaper than by other methods of transportation back then
Samuel Morse made a huge Improvement in Electro-Magnetic Telegraphs.
he also invented Morse Code.
It boosted the economy because it was cheaper to transport.
the Industrial revolution is economics system where machines do work that was once performed by animals or humans.Industralism helped the people because it didn't put as much on them and put more on the machines. Life before industrialism was harder than life used to be because know the is machines.Britian lead the industrial revolution. They started to use machines to get there crops up and help them with other things around the farm. One of the major causes of the industrial revolution was the way land owners used there land. the reason why britain's population grew rapidly in the 1700s is because of good health care, peoples health, the industrial revolution and young marriage.
Edmund Cartwright invented a wool-combing machine in 1789, continued to improve his power loom, invented a steam engine that used alcohol and a machine for making rope in 1797, and aided Robert Fulton with his steamboats.
alexander Graham bell
Alexander Graham Bell's major invention is the invention of the telephone. Yet he also invented the graphaphone.
the industrial revolution started with the invention of the spinning jenny.
The steam engine was a major part of the industrial revolution.
