He was losing his sanity. David Gilmour was potentially his "replacement." He took over at lead guitar, while Roger Waters took over as lead vocals. The band was now in jeopardy. Intoducing: David Gilmour Syd Barrett's Tragedy Saucerful of Secrets - 1968 Transition Album Faded out Syd barrett's ideas and introduced Roger Water's new aproach to the band's future. Album made its way to #6 on the Top Twenty Charts Included hit Single, Arnold Layne Pink Floyd's Best Selling Album, over 25 million copies sold Made Pink Floyd famous throughout the whole world Darkside of the Moon - 1973 Wish You Were Here - 1975 Influenced by the memories of Syd Barrett Included "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" which was considered 'Syd's song.' Animals - 1977 Began to show a dispute between Roger Waters and the rest of the group Was considered another successful album Second best-selling album Portrayed a story about 'Pink' "Another Brick in the Wall" became a #1 single The Wall The Final Cut Not long after the release The Wall, the fueds worsened, causing Roger Waters to leave the band. The success of Pink Floyd was now reaching an end. The Final Cut is considered to be one of the worse albums Pink Floyd ever produced. Roger Waters was taking over, and making it more of a project for himself, and not the band. Last Album released by the whole group Three years after the split of Pink Floyd, Nick Mason and David Gilmour reformed the band, and fought for the name back. The lawsuit over the name resulted in Roger Waters losing the battle. As the reformed Pink Floyd, four albums were produced: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell, Delicate Sound of Thunder, and Pulse. London Live 8 Concert - 2005 Last time group played together. Pink Floyd today Rick Wright - passed away in 2008 at age 65 Syd Barrett - passed away in 2006 at age 60. Roger Waters- Still an active musician, participating in The Wall live tour, which began in 2010. Pink Floyd Today Pink Floyd Today Nick mason is now back to his original hobby: collecting and racing cars. Pink Floyd Today David Gilmour - still performs today, and recently produced and Android and Iphone app of his live concerts. First time the band played together in over 20 years, since 1983.
