The two strongest forces used in creating a desert are wind and water. Wind blows hard over the land where no trees break the force. Rain cut deeps into the earth moving sand. In sandy deserts the wind blows the sand into the dunes. The shapes of the sand dunes are the result of the direction the wind is blowing. Desert
A desert is a place with very little rainfall. There are deserts all over the world and they cover one seventh of the earth's surface. The distance varies, but the southern edge of the Sahara Desert is about 1000km /600 miles north of the equator. The biggest desert in the world is the continent Antarctica and the biggest hot desert in the world is The Sahara desert located in North Africa.
