Transcript of Figures of Speech in Song Lyrics

Simile
Definition: a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind Often using the words "Like or As"
What Song Did I choose?
I chose the song "Can't hold us" by: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis not only because I enjoy the song but because it contains many different Figurtive language examples that I will be sharing today.
Figurative Language
In total I found seven different Figures of speech that were put in to the lyrics of the song
Rhyme
Definition: correspondence of sound between words or the endings of words, especially when these are used at the ends of lines of poetry.
Repitition
Definition: repeating the same words or phrases a few times
Hyperbole
Definition: exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
